              Be it following a schedule in your professional life, or allowing you to surf the internet for just a limited period of time, knowing how to time the "Shut Down" of your computer is going to help in more ways than one.



Coming to think of it, you can use this feature to keep unwanted guests, who claim your computer, at bay. However, you would have to act like you don't know what happened to your computer all of a sudden.

Here in, we tell you how you can set the timer in your computers with Windows 7, so that they shut down on their own at the scheduled time.

1. Go to Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools > Task Scheduler > Create Basic Task.

2. In the Name column, type "Shut down", and in the Description column, type "Shut down PC", and then click Next.

3. Now choose the frequency that you want the system to shut down and click Next.

4. Enter the date and time and click Next.

5. Choose Start a program and click Next.

6. Below Program/script, type C:\Windows\System32\shutdown.exe.

7. In Add arguments, type /s and click Next.

8. Click Finish.

Now your system would shut down at the date and time you mentioned in the taskbar, after a mandatory warning that would come in a dialog box a minute before the shut down.

Multi-tasking is easy as long as we are on a computer; opening different windows and doing different works seems like a cakewalk. However, when it comes to minimizing all the open tabs, we end up wasting a lot of time and that hurts. Doesn't it? Yes, we can always press Windows+D and minimize all the open tabs but what if you want to keep one window open?

Even the thought of having to look at all the tabs to find which one has to be opened might make you shudder.

Well, here is a solution. The next time you have to minimize all tabs but one, shake the active window and all the background tabs would be minimized.

Yes, you read that right, it's that simple. Just take the mouse, point it to the blue strip where you have the minimize buttons and shake it. You can repeat the steps to undo your action and maximize all the tabs.

This trick works only on Windows not macs..
